Ok, I'm going to be 'that guy' and point out that there is a difference between local weather and climate.

Why Is Nothing Being Done About Looters?
by minimus inlooting is happening everywhere like never before.
brazen thieves walk into stores and bring a bag with them and simply throw whatever they choose in the bag.
popular chain stores have closed in certain neighborhoods because it’s just not worth it.

Pistolpete, what if the 'looter or shooter' kills 15 or 20 people before he is shot dead?
Just curious.

1. His avatar is his own face on an anti-jw website.
2. He is asking for certain posters to send information directly that may identify them.
But I'm sure he is legit 🙄

The right to not be exposed to ideas I don’t like or agree with?
by EdenOne inok, i would like to submit to the forum the following question: in abstract, do you think that there is a right to not being exposed to ideas that you don’t like or disagree with?
please think it through and its implications on both ends of the spectrum.. it’s not the right to conscientious objection to do something you vehemently disagree with; it’s not about the liberty to chose which ideas you want to embrace or advocate.
it’s something different.. given that, as exjws, we understand the importance of being exposed to different opinions in order to form our own opinion, should someone claim the right not to be exposed to opinions or ideas that they don’t like?

It sounds like the father of the kids threw out the baby with the bath water. By not allowing his kids to attend the class, they missed learning about equality etc in a school setting.
However, I agree that some parents may want to be the ones that influence their kids when it comes to sexuality and gender, especially in the current political climate, instead of leaving it up to some progressive, gender- fluid hippy.
Your question applies differently to adults and children.

Delta Variant task force
by DATA-DOG inare you ready for the delta variant task force, funded by bill gates to come to your home?
after mass censorship and in some cases arrests ( australia ) for speaking out against lockdowns, or the dangers of untested medical procedures, we now have morons who want to send people to your home, to remove infected family members.... how will you know you’re infected??
a pcr test cranked up to detect anything of course!

Pretty sure no-one got arrested in Australia for speaking out against lock downs.
There have definitely been arrests because of not following lock down orders. These arrests were because of mass gatherings of people that flouted health directives during times of covid spikes.
It had nothing to do with how many guns anyone owned.
Some Aussies believed covid isn't a big deal-no one has a right to tell them they have to wear masks- scientific researchers are all idiots-it's all Bill Gates fault, blah blah blah.

Nebuchadnezzar's 37th year matches the year 588 or 568 BC?
by Vanderhoven7 inanybody know something about vat 4956?.
nebuchadnezzar's 37th year matches the year 588 bc?
any independant astronomer can test it and it only matches 568 bc.. .

Scholar, thanks for replying to my post
Even though you are clearly a troll and you may, or may not believe what you are saying, your answer gave me the info I need.
You have no understanding of astronomy and are simply parroting the erroneous view of the wt.
Your belief that because the moon is physically closer than the planets and therefore more reliable for astronomical observations is laughable and childish. Its like saying that the clocktower Big Ben in London is more accurate than a wristwatch because its bigger.
Just be honest, you are trolling us, right?

Scholar, regarding this quote, you mention that there may be inconsistencies of up to half a degree, or more, in regards to astronomical positions between different software programs. I'm unsure if you are referring to the lunar positions only, or all the positions of celestial bodies mentioned on the tablet.
Once again, its only the WT that seeks to deceive its readers into thinking that the best evidence is related to the lunar observations.
Here are 2 lines of VAT4956:
Line 2: Saturn was in front of the Swallow.
Line 9: Saturn was in front of the Swallow.
If I am reading the tablet right, the time between the observance of Saturn in the first line and the second is about 28 days. So , for weeks, Saturn was roughly in front, or to the east, of the Swallow constellation
This is all the information that anyone that knows anything about astronomy needs. A difference in half a degree here or there is totally inconsequential. In fact, any one of these 2 observations are enough to pinpoint the year.
Saturn takes 29 years to complete its orbit around the Sun and reappear in the same place. The difference between 568 and 588, as argued is only 20 years.
If the location of Saturn in regard to the Swallow matches for 567/8,then it will not match for 588- it won't even be close. 588 is incorrect, everyone, except the WT knows it.
Actually, I'm pretty sure they know it too.

Good point anonymous, I had to check what the laws on religious freedoms were and I found this, which is actually close to the wording of U.S. laws:
"The Commonwealth shall not make any law for establishing any religion, or for imposing any religious observance, or for prohibiting the free exercise of any religion, and no religious test shall be required as a qualification for any office or public trust under the Commonwealth."
The application of these laws is up to the courts I guess?
I totally agree with you, what is the acid test that determines if a religion is a hoax- is it scientific, historical?
This was a finding in regard to Scientology's claim to be a religion in Australia:
Church of the New Faith v Commissioner for Pay-Roll Tax (Vic)[edit]
In the 1983 judgment of the High Court in Church of the New Faith v Commissioner for Pay-Roll Tax (Vic), the court was primarily concerned with whether Scientology was a religion (and therefore entitled to tax exempt status). In judgement, the Court found that Scientology was a religion and argued that the definition of religion must be flexible, but also remain sceptical of false claims. Justices Ronald Wilson and William Deane set out five "indicia" of a religion:
(i) That the collection of ideas and practices involved a belief in the supernatural (being something that could not be perceived by the senses); (ii) That 'the ideas relate to man's nature and place in the universe and his relation to things supernatural' ; (iii) That the adherents accept certain ideas as requiring them or encouraging them to observe particular codes of conduct or specific practices having some supernatural significance; (iv) The adherents themselves form an identifiable group or groups; (v) The adherents themselves see the collection of ideas, beliefs and practices as constituting a religion.[16]
